Some Fun Facts about me:
I've been a working actor, VO talent in the industry for about 20+ years. During this time I have evolved working as a wardrobe, producer and casting and coaching. I'm #9 of 9 kids from a Puerto Rican background. I am from Kearns, Utah, which is a town outside of SLC, Utah.
I've done many roles but I am always recognized for my role in the Disney movie, High School Musical 1. In 2016, it was parodied by BAD LIP READING. If you’re wondering, I was the pregnant Chemistry “Chem”, Teacher. And yes, I really was pregnant! You have seen me on Ellen, SNL, (Murder Show), One Tree Hill and more
- A very humbling, mind blowing opportunity I've had was to be selected as a guest utility actor for 5 separate years, at the Sundance Filmmakers Lab in Sundance, UT, (1997, 1998, 1999, 2002, and 2005), with 1st class mentors such as, Robert Redford, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and Joan Darling. Incredibly grateful for this opportunity.
- My most challenging role to date has been the character of Edith Cartwright, in the 2016 feature film, Providence. My character ages 40 years and suffers a stroke. I am grateful for the acknowledgement of my character by receiving *Winner Best Supporting Actress *Fan Favorite *Best Cast Christian Film Festival Newport News, VA.
- Literally singing for my supper! I was a former singing telegram. Trifecta of acting. Singing, acting and comedy improv. Not a job for the timid!
- I keep my passport current. I’m passionate about a place's history, people and culture when traveling; and yes - I am that person that reads all the plaques on historic buildings or museums (...yeah, I'm that lady)!
- I can only cook a couple of really good meals, but thanks to my dad's one cooking secret, I know how to use spices to jazz it up which keeps my husband and 2 children in awe.
- Coaching and Mentoring - When I am not catering to my children, husband and cat, I love being a mentor to young at risk students in urban school districts teaching public speaking and presentation skills through acting with Rose Hill Friends of the Arts. I have also taught VO to Theater For All students with special needs. I always come away with more in my heart when I see the progress and determination of the students.
